Adult Sunday School

March, April, May 2009

Couples Class- 20-40 year olds meet in room 309. Wes McMurray will be teaching Romans.

Friends Class- 30-40 year olds meet in room 307. Jim Gantt will be teaching on the Psalms.

Genesis Class- 30-40 year olds meet in room 305.

Mackay Smith is continuing to teach The Reason for God, by Tim Keller.

New Life Class- 30-60 year olds meet in room 304. On February 22 they began a study by InterVarsity called Jesus’ Final Walk led by Walter Payne.

Mustard Seed Class- 50-60 year olds meet in room 306. Various teachers will lead the class using the Standard Quarterly; Christ and Creation; Ezekiel, Luke, Acts, Ephesians.

Elective Class- 40-80 year olds meet in room 203/Chapel. Bill Cain and Fred Chase are leading discussions on Reading -Thru-the -Bible.

Bible Explorers- 40-80 plus year olds meet in room 308. The Case for Faith, by Lee Strobel.

Reid McDill- 50-80 plus year old ladies’ class meets in room 202. Various teachers lead the class using the Standard Quarterly; Christ and Creation; Ezekiel, Luke, Acts, Ephesians.

Grier Bible Class- 40-80 plus year old men’s class meets in room 201. Louie Markwood is teaching from David Cook material: Daniel: A Time for Courage-Peter’s Letters of Faith & Encouragement.

Inquirers Class- For new people attending First ARP Church who want to learn more about the church. Class will begin March 15, 2009 at 9:45 am in the fellowship hall.

The Parables of Christ

Taught by Wes McMurray

"The Parables of Christ" study on Wednesday nights will continue through May 6th. Jesus was the greatest storyteller of all time. Theologian, Mark Hopkins rightly said, "Certainly, no revolution that has ever taken place in society can be compared to that which has been produced by the words of Jesus Christ." Come join us as we study these revolutionary, life-changing stories together!

 

Love and Respect

Taught by Tom Williamson

A wife has one driving need—to feel loved. When that need is met, she is happy. A husband has one driving need—to feel respected. When that need is met, he is happy. This elective is based on several of the actual seminar sessions presented by Dr. Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs. He asks the question, "What do you want for your marriage? Please note this class will run from 6:15-7:30 pm.

 

The Book of James

Taught by Eddie Spencer

During the last four weeks of our study of the book of James, we will return to three topics and dig deep as it relates to a lifestyle of humility (3:13), living without worry (4:13-16) and a lifestyle of patience (5:7-11). Join us for this practical and very humbling series.

 

I Kings

Taught by Bill Cain

During the next 4 weeks, we will continue our study in I Kings looking at Solomon’s life and the divided Kingdom. We will see how God’s chosen people react as sin builds in their midst and judgment looms on the horizon. Join us as we open God’s word which has a timely message for us in our daily lives.
