Heaven: God’s Gift to Believers – A New Bible Study for Women led by Donna Tyree

Event date/time: March 15, 2012 10:00 am

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21: 3,4

Over the past few years, there have been a lot of bestsellers written about Heaven. Some authors think they have “seen” Heaven and know exactly what it will be like. But all we really know for certain is what God has told us in the Bible. Have you ever wondered about the believer’s eternal home?

All First ARP Women are invited to a six week study about Heaven to be held at Covenant Village beginning March 15 and concluding on April 26 (no study on April 12). You do not have to be a resident of Covenant to attend. We will be meeting in the Assembly Room from 10-11:30 on Thursday mornings. Our study each week will conclude with a time for prayer and praise. The last session on April 26 will be an opportunity to “Ask the Pastor.” Come ready with your questions!

All study materials will be provided, and a Bible is the only book you need to bring. Books you may wish to purchase on your own include:

Fear Not: Death and the Afterlife from a Christian Perspective by J. Ligon Duncan

If I Should Die Before I Wake by K. Scott Oliphint and Sinclair Ferguson

Setting our Sights on Heaven by Paul D. Wolfe

Heaven by Randy Alcorn

A copy of each of these will be available for you to review at the study.

Please see Donna Tyree or call her if you have questions or wish to sign up to attend. There will also be sign-up sheets in the March bulletins. We hope you will join us. You will leave this study in awe of your great God and all He has prepared for believers!

The Resurrection Trail

Crowds hailed Him, Pharisees mocked Him, disciples communed with Him and the faithful deserted Him.
During Holy Week this year, April 2-6, First A.R.P. Church will be presenting The Resurrection Trail, a reenactment of four biblical scenes as Jesus walked the Via Dolorosa (The Way of Sorrows). Trail participants will relive His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, as well as the Upper Room Scene, where we will celebrate communion. Culminating the Trail, we will hear and meditate on the most dramatic events in human history, Gethsemane and Golgotha.
The Trail’s purpose is to present these scenes through drama, dialogue, sights and sounds with the hope being that this glorious old story will come alive in new ways by the power of the Holy Spirit.
More details on the actual presentation dates and reservation information will follow.
If you have been a participant in the past or have an interest or questions regarding being part of this powerful drama, please call Nancy Peeler at the church, 704-864-3468 or call Jim Poag at 704-866-9762.
