At First ARP, missions are not just something we do, but something we are. It is our hope that missions would become part of our very DNA as Christians. Each of us is a missionary and called to participate in God’s plan to redeem all things through Jesus Christ.
Our vision for missions at First ARP is to personally and passionately participate in God’s work of salvation by partnering with missionaries and agencies in these areas:
- Evangelism/Church Planting
Advancing the Kingdom of God by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ so that his Church might be established around the world.
- Theological Education
Advancing the Kingdom of God by supporting the training of local pastors and church leaders, especially in the third world.
- Mercy Ministry to the Poor
Advancing the Kingdom of God by fighting poverty and injustice in the world.
We currently support mission efforts in Israel, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, Wales, Africa, Taiwan, Nicaragua and Haiti. Many of our foreign missionaries are supported through the ARP foreign mission agency, World Witness.
Locally, we support ministries such as Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Gastonia Faith Network, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Gideons, Potters House, As One Ministries and many more.
We also offer a number of short-term mission trips every year for youth and adults. Recently, we have sent mission teams to Haiti, Dearborn, MI, and Mexico. We have upcoming trips planned to Honduras and again to Haiti. It is our goal for our members to have plenty of opportunities to serve beside our missionaries and to actively participate in what God is doing around the world.
