Blood Drive

We have a blood drive at First ARP Church in the fellowship hall 3 times a year.  In conjunction with the American Red Cross, we host a blood drive in late January, May, and September.  Donors and table volunteers are always needed.  You will usually see me on the breezeway for the three Sundays before the drive where you can sign up for an appointment.  Walk-ins are also welcome!

Contact Vicki Marsh for an appointment or more information: vmarsh1414@aol.com or 704 616-6690

Community Christmas Store

This event is held once a year in mid- December.  There are many volunteer positions available since we need people to shop for us, help to set up the store the week before December 13th and people to help in the store the night of the event plus volunteers to help the parents shop for the children and men to help to carry the bags out to the car after shopping is done.  In addition, we need you to take an angel from the Angel Tree and return it with the amount of money shown or the items listed (such as 3 basketballs or I large box of diapers) to the church.  If you have never helped with this ministry, you don’t know what you are missing!!  It is better to give than to receive!!  For more information or to volunteer,

MOM’S Journey Group

“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…” Ephesians 3:17

MJG is our weekly Wednesday night ministry to neighborhood moms. We meet during the Wednesday night electives. Our group has become like a family over this past year. There are over 20 moms who have attended the group. It is our prayer that the moms and their families will be transformed by the power of God’s grace through the study of His Word and community. We had our first retreat in the fall to Bonclarken. God has done immeasurably more within this group!

Got Heart

“All people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

During the fall we host a Saturday neighborhood service day. Service projects include: visitation, yard work, painting, cleaning gutters, and light building projects. It has been wonderful to see how God has opened up new relationships within our community through this once a year work day.

Each week we seek to share the love of Jesus with the students and teach them the gospel truths. Our theme this past year was, “Follow Me.” We studied what it means to follow Jesus in every area of our life. We have snacks, play games, and study God’s Word.

Backpack Ministry

Backpack Ministry – First ARP seeks to answer God’s call to care for the least of these by providing backpacks with food for students in vulnerable life situations at York Chester Middle School.  We need volunteers to help pick-up, organize, pack and drop-off the food.  Please consider volunteering as it is a most tangible way of showing the love of Christ.

Skeptics Welcome

Skeptics Welcome will be a series of ministry events at First ARP where skeptics will be welcome to come and ask questions about Christianity and its truth claims, and where believers will be welcome to come and interact with the kind of questions that skeptics ask.  The goal that skeptics will interact with the truth claims of the Christian faith and Christians will grow in the ability to defend their faith in a skeptical world.
